Originally from Australia, Craig Davidson is an international choreographer based in Berlin, Germany.

Craig trained at the New Zealand School of Dance and performed as a soloist with the Finnish National Ballet, Royal Ballet of Flanders, Tanz Luzerner Theater and the Semperoper Ballett and was awarded a Critic’s Choice Award by Dance Europe for ‘Most Outstanding Performance by a Male Dancer’ for his performance in Impressing the Car by William Forsythe.

World premiers have been created for the Royal Ballet of Flanders, Ballett Zürich Junior Company, West Australian Ballet, Queensland Ballet, Ballett Dortmund, Atlanta Ballet, Ballet Idaho and the Origen Festival Cultural as well as restaging works for the Slovakian National Ballet and Ballettschule Theater Basel. His works have also been performed internationally by principal dancers from the Royal Ballet, Ballet de l’Opera de Paris, Semperoper Ballett and Ballett Zürich.

Since 2021 he has been a regular guest teacher and guest rehearsal director with Ballett Bühnen Bern. In season 2022/2023 he stepped into the position of interim rehearsal director and choreographic assistant. Throughout this period he has assisted choreographers such as Mauro Astolfi, Caroline Finn and Ed Wubbe as well as working on pieces from Edward Clug, Marie Chouinard and Kørsia among others.

Craig has also been a regular guest teacher with companies such as Theater Basel, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Ballett X Schwerin, Zürcher Hochschule der Künste and the ART of summer programs in Zürich and Madrid.

Season 2023/2024 sees Davidson creating new works for Finnish National Ballet Youth Company, Palucca Hochschule für Tanz Dresden, and Escuela Professional de Danza de Valladolid. The revival of Entropy with the Slovakian National Ballet, Lightness of Being performed by Melissa Hamilton (Royal Ballet) and Roberto Bolle (La Scala Milan and ABT) at the Roberto Bolle and Friends Gala in Udine Italy, and a new solo for Haruka Sassa (Staatsballett Berlin) to be performed at BALLET The New Chic Japan.

He will be returning to Ballett Bühnen Bern as a guest rehearsal director and choreographic assistant for Mauro Astolfi’s Fear, as well as guest teaching for Grand Théâtre de Genève, Ballett Bühnen Bern and Ballet X Schwerin. Craig has also been invited as a workshop leader and creator for the 9th Biennale Tanzausbildung in Munich.
